SITE POTABLE WATER SAVING

Sustainability via Innovative Water Recycling

One of South Africa’s leading logistics companies, specializing in refrigerated edible consumer goods. Vector has branches countrywide, with distribution centres in most major cities in South Africa. Energy Partners successfully completed two projects for Vector, the first, an extension to their Peninsula branch cold storage facility in Epping, Cape Town. The second project comprised a complete new facility in Coega, in the Eastern Cape.

The construction of Vector Coega included a 2 500 m² freezer area (-30 °C); 2 500 m² cold storage and ambient store (-25 °C); 3800 m² receiving and dispatch (-10 °C) and 1000 m² office space. Due to the extent of additional refrigeration load, the existing electrical infrastructure had to be refurbished and expanded. This entailed new 11 kV cabling, refurbishing of 11 kV switchgear, and replacement of the existing transformer with a larger unit.

Project Size : Cold storage, receiving & dispatch, ambient store, office space
Funding Option : Turnkey
Location : Cape Town & Coega
Commissioning Date : 2015

“Energy Partners are a professional and knowledgeable team, planning and executing projects on time and in budget. Over the years, our partnership has grown and project expectations have always been met. This was especially experienced during the Cape Town water crisis where adiabatic condensers reduced our business risk.”
Jurie Schoeman – Operations Executive
